The Person Behind BSA
Tony Barnes
MSc | CMIOSH
Founder | BSA
Tony's spent his career in construction health and safety - on sites, in design meetings, and in the difficult conversations when something hasn't gone to plan. He's worked alongside main contractors on projects from £5M refurbishments to £120M major builds, across healthcare, commercial, and residential sectors. More importantly, he's built a reputation for being straight-talking, practical, and easy to work with.
He holds Chartered Membership of IOSH and a Master's with Distinction from the University of Hull. But qualifications only tell part of the story. What clients actually value is that Tony understands construction - the pressures, the programmes, the reality of getting things built safely without slowing everyone down.
He started BSA to work with people who want things done properly. Not box-ticking. Not audit theatre. Just honest, practical safety advice from someone who's been in their shoes.
Outside work, he's a husband-to-be and dad. That's why BSA exists - something worth building, something to be proud of.
If that sounds like someone you'd want in your corner, get in touch.
Growing The Team
BSA is building selectively. We're looking for experienced construction H&S professionals who share our approach - practical, honest, and committed to doing things properly.
If that sounds like you, we'd welcome a conversation.
